Original Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter in Silber (Cross of Honour of the German Mother – Silver Grade), awarded during the Third Reich to women who bore and raised six to seven children in service of the nation.
This is the 2nd Class award, featuring the iconic white and blue enamel cross with black swastika center, and comes with a piece of the original ribbon.
 
🏅 Historical context:
Instituted by Hitler on 16 December 1938, the Mother’s Cross was part of a state effort to encourage higher birth rates among “racially suitable” women. It came in three grades: Bronze (4–5 children), Silver (6–7), and Gold (8 or more). These were awarded during public ceremonies, often with great symbolic and social importance.
