Rare Pre-War German Mess Kit – AEM 37 – Early Production
 
Up for sale is a rare and original German Mess Kit, clearly marked AEM 37, manufactured in 1937 by AEMA (Albert Müller, Metallwarenfabrik, München). This is a very early pre-war example of the classic Kochgeschirr M31, the standard-issue mess tin used by the Wehrmacht throughout World War II.
 
This mess kit shows heavy use, with dents, surface wear, and fading consistent with long field deployment – a true veteran. Despite the wear, the original AEM 37 stamp is still clearly visible, making it highly desirable for collectors of early Third Reich equipment.
 
Pre-war dated kits like this, especially from 1937, are getting increasingly hard to find, as most were used up or lost during the early war years.
