WWII German Ostvolk Medal in Silver – With Original Ribbon

A very nice and original Ostvolk Medal in Silver (Medaille für deutsche Volkspflege), complete with its full-length original ribbon. This decoration was instituted in July 1942 and was awarded to non-German personnel from the Eastern territories who had shown meritorious service in support of the German war effort — both civilian and military.

The Silver Grade was typically awarded for distinguished service beyond the basic Bronze level, often to members of the auxiliary units, volunteers, and local officials who made significant contributions to the German administration or military operations.

This example shows crisp details with a pleasing light patina and retains much of its original silver finish. The ribbon is original and remains in excellent condition, with strong color and authentic period texture.

genuine and well-preserved example of the Silver Grade Ostvolk Medal — highly collectible and historically significant, representing the complex collaboration between the Wehrmacht and Eastern volunteers during WWII.
