A beautiful example of the Mother’s Cross in Bronze (Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter), awarded to mothers of large families as a mark of honor and recognition.
This decoration was first presented on 21 May 1939 (Mother’s Day in Germany) and was traditionally awarded on subsequent Mother’s Days throughout the period. The bronze grade was given to mothers with four to five children, silver for six to seven, and gold for eight or more.
This example shows some cracks in the enamel and is missing the ribbon, but the details of the cross remain clearly visible. Despite the flaws, it still represents a genuine and historically significant award.
