An excellent example of the Mother’s Cross in Gold (Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter), awarded as the highest grade of this decoration to mothers with eight or more children.
 
The award was first introduced on 21 May 1939 (Mother’s Day in Germany) and continued to be presented annually on Mother’s Day throughout the period.
 
This cross is in very fine condition, with vibrant enamel and sharp details, and comes complete in its original case of issue by maker Zimmermann, Pforzheim. The case remains in very good shape, making this a particularly desirable set.
