Two identical Luftwaffe mess knives, both clearly marked with the wartime code cpsw 40 and stamped FLUV.
The code cpsw 40 identifies the maker as Carl Prinz AG, Solingen-Wald, a renowned German cutlery manufacturer. The number 40 confirms the year of production: 1940. The additional FLUV marking stands for Flieger Unterkunfts Verwaltung (Airmen’s Accommodation Administration), showing that these knives were officially issued through the Luftwaffe’s supply system.
Both knives remain in very nice, original condition. Having a matched pair like this is highly unusual, as most surviving examples today are individual pieces. The steel blades, grips, and overall construction are still solid, reflecting the quality craftsmanship from Solingen’s wartime production.
A rare chance to acquire two authentic, matching Luftwaffe knives from 1940, produced by Carl Prinz AG and officially Luftwaffe-issued.
Price applies to the pair (both knives included)
