German Wehrmacht Tornister backpack, manufactured in 1942 by L.L.G. Hessen.
 
This is the classic M34-style pack, often referred to as the Affe ("monkey") pack due to its shape, and is covered in genuine pony fur, as was standard for the period.
 
The backpack is in excellent condition, showing only light signs of wear. The fur is largely intact, the stitching is solid, and all buttons and buckles are present and functional. The maker stamp “L.L.G. Hessen 1942” is clearly visible on the inside of the flap.
 
Please note: this example does not include the shoulder straps, but is otherwise complete and well-preserved – a rare find in this condition, especially from the mid-war years.
These iconic German field packs were standard issue for infantry and support troops and are an essential piece for any serious WW2 German gear collection.
