Rare original First World War Wound Badge in Gold (Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold), awarded to German soldiers who were severely wounded in action, typically after receiving three or more wounds.

The gold grade was the highest class of the Wound Badge, instituted in March 1918.

This example is in mint condition, with its original gilded finish fully intact and exceptionally clear detail on the helmet, crossed swords, and laurel wreath.

A truly scarce and highly desirable piece for collectors of WWI German military awardspremium decorations, or original battlefield relics. Its pristine state makes it a standout in any collection.
