Offered here is an original WWII German Black Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz), manufactured by Eduard Hahn, identified by the PKZ code 126.

This example is a desirable iron wartime variant, retaining much of its original blackened finish, now showing natural age, wear, and patina consistent with genuine period use. What makes this badge particularly attractive to advanced collectors is its rare triple-marked configuration:

  • “EH” maker initials
  • PKZ code “126”
  • A very faint additional “EH” marking, located lower left in the helmet, barely visible but correct and original

Such multiple-marked examples are scarce and highly sought after, as they clearly illustrate transitional and manufacturer-specific marking practices.

The reverse hardware features a small iron hinge paired with a classic iron “R” catch, both original, firmly attached, and fully consistent with documented Eduard Hahn production. The pin remains straight and functional.

All components are original and unaltered, with no repairs, re-painting, or post-war modifications. Obverse details—helmet, swastika, crossed swords, and laurel wreath—remain well defined despite honest surface wear.

This badge is rated Rarity 3/5, placing it above common single-marked examples and making it an excellent addition to any serious collection of WWII German wound badges or PKZ-marked awards.
