WW2 German Army M-1931 Mess Kit. Marker marked and dated SRM35 on pan hinge area of top lid and marker marked and dated 35 on main bowl wire connector. Approximately 1.7 liter standard issue aluminum and steel construction mess kit. Removable top lid which could serve as a plate or cooking pan. The wire carrying handle features an indentation to the top center allowing it to be suspended over a fire. Most of the paint worn away from the lid and the main bowl/pot body and it looks like the soldier scratched in his name on the mess kit as well. Very heavily worn condition.
