Set of 3 Original WWII Wehrmacht “Steuerfrei” Cigars – Rare Complete Lot
Kan beschikbaarheid voor afhalen niet laden
This is a highly unusual and exceptionally well-preserved set of three original Wehrmacht-issue cigars, two pieces still wrapped with its wartime paper band marked “Für deutsche Wehrmacht steuerfrei” (“Tax-free for the German Armed Forces”). Cigars like these were distributed to soldiers as part of their rationing and morale-boosting supplies, but very few survived the war—especially with their original bands intact.
Two of the cigars still carry the characteristic “K 101” stamped tax-free band featuring the golden Reichsadler-style heraldic lion motif, while the third cigar is unbanded but identical in form, color, and period make. All three retain their original hand-rolled shape and dry wartime tobacco, with natural age-related wear to the leaves, giving them tremendous authenticity.
These cigars are not meant for consumption but serve as rare relics of everyday life within the German Wehrmacht, illustrating the personal comforts allotted to soldiers during the war. Items like this were typically stored in field canteens, command posts, or soldier’s personal kits—making any surviving examples noteworthy. A matched group of three is even more uncommon.
