WW2 Luftwaffe Porcelain Serving Tureen – Heinrich & Co, Selb Bavaria – 1940 – Mint Condition
Kan beschikbaarheid voor afhalen niet laden
This is an outstanding and exceptionally well-preserved WW2 Luftwaffe porcelain serving tureen, manufactured in 1940 by the renowned Bavarian porcelain factory Heinrich & Co (H & C), Selb. Pieces of this quality, size and condition are extremely scarce today, especially when carrying full military markings and remaining completely intact.
Authentic Luftwaffe Markings – “Fl. U.V.”
On the underside, the tureen bears the unmistakable Luftwaffe acceptance stamp:
- The Luftwaffe eagle with outstretched wings
- Swastika (part of the historical marking)
- “Fl. U.V.” – standing for Flieger Unterkunft Verwaltung (Aviation Accommodation Administration), indicating this piece was issued to official Luftwaffe facilities such as:
- Officers’ messes
- Airbase canteens
- Administration or accommodation kitchens
These markings confirm direct wartime issue, not a civilian piece purchased privately.
High-Quality Production – Heinrich & Co (Selb)
Below the Luftwaffe stamp is the elegant H & C Selb Bavaria / Heinrich factory mark in green.
Heinrich was one of the top porcelain producers of the era, known for fine tableware and premium military contracts. Their WW2 military porcelain is highly collectible due to its craftsmanship and relative rarity.
Design Features
- Beautiful lion-head handles, an uncommon decorative element for military-issued dining ware
- Bright white, smooth glaze with no chips, cracks, repairs or discoloration
- Crisp details and sharp markings
- Classic rounded form with pedestal base
- Perfect for display in any WW2 Luftwaffe collection or historical showcase
Condition: MINT
This example is in near-perfect mint condition, far better than most surviving pieces.
No damage, no wear — truly a museum-worthy item.
A Rare Opportunity
Luftwaffe-marked porcelain from 1940, especially large serving pieces like this, has become exceptionally difficult to find. Many were destroyed, damaged, or lost after the war. A mint example by Heinrich & Co is the kind of item that rarely appears on the market and is highly sought after by serious collectors of WW2 Luftwaffe memorabilia.
A stunning, genuine Luftwaffe porcelain terrine from 1940 — one of the finest examples available today.
