This is an original WW2 Schönheit der Arbeit (SdA) deep soup plate, produced by PMR Bavaria / Jaeger & Co, one of the well-known German porcelain manufacturers supplying SdA-approved workplace tableware. With a diameter of 23.5 cm, this plate represents the classic SdA canteen style issued only to selected, modernised workplaces under the Deutsche Arbeitsfront.

Classic SdA Cogwheel Marking

The underside features the official and highly desirable SdA stamp:

• SdA cogwheel emblem with swastika
• “Modell des Amtes – Schönheit der Arbeit”
• PMR Bavaria / Jaeger & Co manufacturer’s mark

This designation indicates that the item was part of an SdA-approved workplace improvement programme — a much smaller production stream than military or RAD porcelain, making surviving examples significantly rarer today.

Condition Note

There is a very small chip on the rim (see photos).

SdA porcelain was intended to symbolise the modernisation of German workplaces during the late 1930s and early 1940s. Only a fraction of workplaces were part of official SdA programmes, and the tableware produced for them was not mass-issued—resulting in significantly lower survival rates.
