Offered for sale is an authentic WWII German K98 bayonet , manufactured by Ernst Pack & Sohn, Solingen . This is a non-matching numbers example.
The bayonet comes complete with its original steel scabbard , dated 1942 and marked with the manufacturer code asw (E & F Hörster). The scabbard shows honest combat wear and age-related patina , adding character and authenticity. Please note: the scabbard is missing its tip (ball finial) – this is reflected in the price and does not affect display value.
Also included is the original leather frog , which remains in very good condition with no cracks or tears in the leather – rare to find in this state after more than 80 years.
