Large Bronze Table Medal – “Tag der Arbeit” 1 May 1938 – Deschler Munich

Offered here is a very rare and highly desirable table medal issued for the celebration of “Tag der Arbeit” (Day of Labor), May 1st, 1938 . These medals were created to commemorate the annual national holiday dedicated to labor, introduced by the regime in 1933 and celebrated with mass rallies, parades, and propaganda events across the Reich.

This impressive example measures a full 58 mm in diameter and weighs 36 grams , giving it a substantial presence in hand. The medal displays a very attractive, even aged patina .

The piece is marked by the famous maker Deschler München , one of the most prominent producers of medals, awards, and insignia of the period. Their craftsmanship is clearly evident in the fine detail and strong relief of the design.

Large non-portable medals such as these were not widely distributed and were usually reserved as commemoratives for special presentations, making surviving examples especially scarce.

A unique and eye-catching addition for any collection of Third Reich table medals, May Day commemoratives, or Deschler-manufactured pieces. Its size, condition, and maker mark make this one stand out significantly from the more commonly encountered badges or small medals.
