This original World War II German photo album contains 42 authentic black-and-white photographs documenting the Kinderlandverschickung (KLV) period of a German boy during the war years.

The Kinderlandverschickung was a large-scale evacuation program introduced in Germany from 1940 onwards, intended to remove children from heavily bombed cities and relocate them to safer rural areas. Children lived temporarily in host families or organized KLV camps, where daily life consisted of schooling, communal routines, sports, and structured leisure activities.

This album offers a rare and personal insight into that experience. The photographs show everyday scenes from camp life, including group portraits, school-related activities, sports teams, buildings, interiors, and informal moments between children. Period handwritten captions in German are present throughout the album, including clearly dated entries from 1943, adding valuable historical context.

While the KLV program was officially presented as a protective and humanitarian measure, it operated under the supervision of the Nazi state. As a result, many KLV camps were organized along similar lines to the Hitlerjugend, whose leaders often played a supervisory role in camp life. This explains why visual elements such as group formations, clothing styles, and disciplined activities may resemble Hitler Youth imagery.

However, it is important to note that this album is not an official Hitlerjugend propaganda album, but a personal keepsake, created by or for a child, documenting his everyday wartime experiences during evacuation. The focus is on daily life rather than ideology, making it a valuable social-historical document.
