WWII German West Wall Medal (Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen) – Absolute Mint Condition – Complete with Original Case & Ribbon

This is an outstanding original WWII German West Wall Medal (Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen), awarded to personnel who contributed to the construction and defense of the Westwall (Siegfried Line) prior to and during the early years of the Second World War.
The obverse features the classic and sharply defined design: the German eagle above a wreath, with crossed spade and sword symbolizing both labor and military defense, positioned above a stylized bunker. All details are crisp and exceptionally well preserved.
The reverse bears the correct inscription “Für Arbeit zum Schutze Deutschlands”, beautifully struck and fully legible.
This example is in absolute mint condition, showing no wear, damage, or corrosion. The medal retains its original factory finish with a uniform patina. The suspension ring is perfectly intact and untouched.
The medal is accompanied by its original full-length ribbon, showing strong colors, excellent structure, and no fraying. It is housed in a presentation case, finished in brown textured material with gold lettering “Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen” on the lid.
While the Westwall Medal was most commonly issued without a case, original period presentation cases such as this are known to have been privately purchased or used for more formal or representative presentation. This combination is therefore historically plausible, period-correct, and highly collectible, particularly in this exceptional state of preservation.
A truly museum-grade, near-time-capsule example, ideal for advanced collectors of WWII German awards, reference collections, or high-end historical displays.
Offered strictly as a historical artifact for educational and collecting purposes only.
