WWII U.S. Navy / U.S.N. Angle Head Flashlight – DT-991/U
Couldn't load pickup availability
This is an original World War II U.S. Navy angle-head flashlight, clearly marked U.S.N. and DT-991/U, a standard-issue model used by American naval personnel during WWII.
The flashlight is manufactured in olive drab bakelite, with the correct right-angle head design that allowed hands-free use when clipped to equipment or clothing. The body retains its original ribbed grip and metal belt clip, showing honest wartime wear and patina.
This example is particularly desirable due to its high level of completeness. The flashlight comes with:
- Original internal reflector assembly
- Original spare bulb compartment clearly marked “SPARE BULB”
- Multiple original coloured lenses (clear, red, green, and blackout/white filter)
- Correct internal spring assembly
- Original screw cap and sealing ring
The interior components remain intact and original, and the bulb socket and internal fittings show no signs of modern replacement. Markings such as “U.S.N.” and DT-991/U are crisp and clearly legible.
Angle-head flashlights like this were widely used by U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, and other naval or shipboard units, as well as by shore personnel requiring controlled or filtered light in blackout conditions.
